If I could give more than 5 stars for this book, I would. This is reasonably short but addresses decision-making from a doctor's point of view tempered with business knowledge. If you ever wondered how doctors know how to make the decisions they do (besides lots of education and long hours of hard work), this book does an excellent job explaining how it's done. Doctors have to consider what's measurable (metrics, lab work, etc.) but also what is also subjective (pain, feelings, etc.). Many times there are complicating factors as well as having the consider the best time to action. Also important is practicing as in using the tools explained time and time again to make decisions and move forward. Well done!Product details

Dr Almeida does an excellent job of explaining his seven antidotes in a manner that is easy to read and understand. This is a good book to get you out of a rut. I will be referencing it from time to time.
Helpful reminders and things to try.
Under the guise of a 'framework', all that this narrative does is regurgitate common knowledge. While it may bring value to someone far detached from the goings-on in the 'real world', this book doesn't do much for those who possess a little bit of common sense. )
Tremendous book! Would recommend to anyone that has difficulty making decisions in specific complex scenarios. Applies a surgeon's perspective to it, which makes this book truly one of a kind.
This was a well written book with a good framework for anyone struggling with making a decision. We often get overwhelmed with all of the decisions we make but by following Dr. Almeida's strategies we can be more effective.
Written by an eye surgeon, this book is as meticulous as the author's work must be. It's well-written and extremely well-organized. Book will help with small decisions like driving routes or which newspaper subscription to cancel or keep, but also big decisions about retirement, life, etc. Dr. Almeida illuminates large issues like values, goals, meaning in life. Great book.
As a physician myself, I am overwhelmed with multiple decisions a day, some of which, if not dealt with in an accurate and timely manner, involve severe consequences. Dr. Almeida provides a unique perspective on how to deal with these decisions. He lays out a logical framework, is clear in his explanations, and is filled with personal anecdotes. Though it is a quick read, it is one that you will refer to time and time again.
